I’ve finished my Flower Basket Shawl! Really! This first picture is taken just before binding off. I knitted 9 or 10 repeats of the Lower Basket. You can see from the mess of ‘lifelines’, and the zillion stitchmarkers that i’m a total n00b at knitting. I didnt feel comfortable with the pattern at all. If i miscounted, i’d be totally lost - not being able to ’see’ where in the pattern I was. It was quite a hassle to move the markers around, but after adopting a tip from Felisi about an alternate way to do the 3 stitch-decrease, it went a lot easier! Anyway, i think it was totally worth it, i did loads of mistakes but with all the markers in every direction it was very easy to locate the problem.
Bulky and all that, not sure how it actually fitted on the 55cm doublepoint needles..
Oh looksie, its finished! Really doesnt look like much when it isnt blocked eh. It’s way bigger than intended tho, 75*180cm BEFORE blocking omg!

Needless to say, i think its a very pretty shawl, and I’m proud i managed to knit it, but i’m actually not sure why i knitted it. It’s not my style, i dont really know anyone who’d wear/need a shawl that doesnt already have loads. Was a nice challenge tho, one that I passed, if i may say so myself 
I think it might be a ‘tad’ too big for me anyhow! It’s 95*200 cm lying flat, with my height of *almost* 160cm, I could use it as a blanket! Guess i’ll hang it in the closet until i figure what to do with it 
Yeah it’s that time of the year again. Major cleanup happened on my PC today! I’ve gone through both my harddrives these past few days, trashing every program, game and file that i dont use or need. Then i went through it all again and trashed some more, but there is still plenty that i dont have the ‘heart’ to delete haha. Anyways, after clearing some space i used some of the windowstools to get rid of dead files and installfiles(if you know of some program that can do this, please let me know - i dont trust microsoft!). Next up is ad-aware to kill ads and spyware, i had about 40ish ebil cookies and dataminers on my PC prrh. Tbh, i had expected more than that, some peeps i know had several hundreds of them My registry on the other hand had nearly 500 errors in it, so it was about time to scan it and get rid of trash. Typical problem with uninstalling stuff, the registry entries doesnt get removed. My PC is now ready for defragmentation and eum yeah. I should take a backup of irreplaceable personal files, my rule of thumb is that every cleanup is the beginning of the death of my PC! You shoo and shine up your own lil box, or you can do it the machostyle as my d00d does: Defrag now and then, and when that doesnt work anymore, format and reinstall Windooz! Works wonders, every 6 months!
I’ve been a busy little bee today! Got a little load of flowers for the balcony from my d00d’s mother. I wanted to do the planting stuff on a sunny day, but the sun doesnt seem to be planning on showing up any time soon. Of course i hadnt cleaned the pots and boxes from last year, so i had to scrub them shiny first. I decided to defrost and clean the fridge and freezer too, so i’ve spent the entire evening on planting and scrubbing stuff. Barely finished the flowers before it got dark, so i only have a “before” pic :P Going to have climbers at each end, two boxes on the railing, and some pots hanging here and there. I just hope i didnt kill them in the transplanting process.

Flowebasket Shawl progress is eum.. almost non-existent Think i’ve got to the 6th repeat of the pattern, but at least its big enough for a child in case i decide to give up on it! Oh haha our neighbour is having a party tomorrow and they invited us over. Maybe to keep us from complaining about noiselevels *giggle*

Ayeh, the LAN was awesome! Fun to meet the guys again and play computer games with/againts em. Food was GREAT, chili casserole on friday. It’s called “Gibbgryta” (gib-casserole), from the LAN’s early days. In games like Quake, gib is the chunks of flesh (bouncing around) from a fragged/killed player, happens after a nasty kill Very appetizing i know! On saturday we had the famous Mayhem Burger. It’s actually the first time i got to taste it, and its really an experience! Takes quite a while to put it together with all the different ingredients.
Anyhow, we didnt go to Stockholm only to eat food, altho it was definitively some of the better meals i’ve had in a while. During the weekend we’ve probably fired thousands of rounds of virtual bullets, stabbed, electrocuted, bombed and slimed down hundreds of victims, taken rifleshots in the head and been plastered up just by going near a firstaidkit and making slurpy noises. We’ve crashed and burned cars, naded friends and foe’s, yelled and cheered all weekend, smacktalked and whined. You cant believe the testosteron in the air unless you’ve been to one of these gatherings. 25ish boys (mawaha some of you are still just boys!) and men all wanting to be Teh King of Frag; noiselevel would be through the roof of smacktalk and cheering, even i got excited altho i tend to believe i’m more of the quiet type while gaming. We got home sunday afternoon, feels like i’ve been in half-coma most of sunday and monday, just trying to recover from the weekend, It’s totally worth it!

Actually it isn’t, it’s the middle of the night now. But it has been for the whole week, and sunny days and blogging is a true mismatch for me! I’ve been hanging outdoors, getting just about nothing done the whole week. Managed to knit a tiny bit and study some while lying as a stranded whale on the balcony tho. Also dug up my inlines and went skating for the first time this summer. I got hooked immediately, first two trips went well but then i got lost (yeah really) on the third trip. Took some time to find my way back to familiar streets so i think i skated a few miles too far for my untrained legs. I tried to skate yesterday but my legs (calfs) just wouldnt work with me, so i had to turn back after a couple miles. I think it was a bit luck too tho, i discovered my brake was all worn out, so i have to change it. Bought a *drumroll* HEX KEY today! In norway we just call it umbraco, but it seems to have a lot of names. Still don’t know what its really called in english, altho i think my friend Tone told it to me. I just cant remember what she said, torks or torcks urh..
After shopping today we went to BBQ at my d00d’s parent’s house. It was insanamoly how good it all tasted! When we got home it was too late to skate, but i’ve been browsing this Inline Planet site and stumbled on some great safety tips. Perfect for someone like me, grew up in a place where we hade like one road and it went straight forward, and now live in a city. I should get a helmet with a rear mirror mwaha!
Ah yeah, we’re going to a LAN in Stockholm tomorrow (err today, Friday). Half of my old BF42 clan will be there, entire weekend is booked for gaming, food, gaming and some more gaming. No surprise if i’ll totally forget about both blogging and crafting, dont have any plans on bringing yarn or needles/hooks (eep did i hear you screaming?)
The FBS (Flower Basket Shawl)Â progress is slow, just finished 5th repeat (each patternrepeat is 10 rows) and i already think its a far way to knit from one end to the other, at about 160ish stitches. At 10 repeats it should be about 100 more! Haha i really dont see that happening any time soon!
